Today’s fast-paced consumer culture silently shapes our lives. The belief that shopping equals happiness is constantly reinforced through advertisements, store windows, and social media. But in the end, our closets are full, and our hearts are empty. At this very point, the Erasmus+ project we are part of asked a powerful question: “What do we really need?”

In this project, minimalism was not just introduced as a lifestyle, but as a journey of awareness. Participants were introduced to concepts such as Freeganism, the KonMari method, and practical approaches to simple living. Through social experiments, documentary screenings, interactive seminars, and hands-on workshops, individuals had the chance to examine their own consumption habits.

Participants discovered how advertisements guide our behavior and how blind loyalty to brands can lead to waste. They saw that living with less can actually enrich their lives.

The gains from this project went far beyond individual awareness. It laid the foundation for an environmentally conscious, productive, and intentional generation. Through social media shares and creative activities, the minimalist lifestyle reached even wider audiences and sparked curiosity.
