Today, while technology makes our lives easier in many ways, it also brings serious challenges—one of the most pressing being gaming addiction, especially among children and young people. With the project our organization took part in, we aimed to highlight how digital tools, if misused, can negatively impact personal development.

In this project, youth workers from different countries explored the psychological, physical, and social dimensions of gaming addiction. Through workshops, brainstorming sessions, and group discussions, they shared good practices from their own countries and came up with creative solutions to this growing problem.

Participants analyzed the content of online games, examined the causes of addiction, and developed practical ideas to prevent it. The importance of directing young people toward sports, arts, and social activities was emphasized as a powerful tool in combating this issue.

This initiative reminded youth workers of their roles not only as educators but also as social change-makers. It highlighted the need for concrete steps by families and educational institutions to prevent technology overuse and to support healthier, more balanced lifestyles.

By the end of the project, a strong awareness was raised around the idea that digital addiction is not inevitable—and that, with the right approach, young people can be supported to reconnect with the real world and healthier routines.
