We are living in an era where young people and children spend most of their time in front of screens—playing video games, scrolling social media, and surfing the internet.
Unfortunately, this lifestyle results in reduced physical activity, social isolation, and emotional detachment. That’s where our Erasmus+ project stepped in, aiming to raise awareness about technology and gaming addiction.
One of the key issues addressed was how computer game addiction hinders children’s social development. The project explored what parents, educators, and communities can do to protect young people from this modern threat. Special focus was given to increasing public awareness and supporting families to guide children away from excessive screen use.
The project included cultural activities, informative sessions, poster-making workshops, institutional visits, and reflective discussions. Participants learned about Erasmus+ and Youthpass while exchanging best practices across countries. The experience also fostered intercultural dialogue and empathy between individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Most importantly, the project delivered a clear message to young people and parents:
“Addiction is not destiny.” With the right guidance, awareness, and educational tools, both individuals and communities can take strong steps against digital overuse.
